:: The Self in Action - Encounters with the Self Based firmly on experiential learning activities, this two day process leads participants into the realm of self-concept, self-image and self-esteem. The purpose of this programme is to bring about profound changes in the way individuals see themselves and others. These positive changes are experienced directly within each activity. Throughout the process, there is reference to theory which is supplied as supplementary reading to the actual programme activities. :: Who would benefit from participating? Today, more than at any other time in our history, people have to cope with an often bewildering variety of rapid transitions; from home to school, from school to university or work, losing ones job, from being single to being in a relationship and marriage, divorce, moving from one city to another, and even to another country. Anyone who has experienced some of the above or similar transitions would potentially find value in ALOE. The research of the past 20 years has demonstrated a correlation between poor performance, direction and low self-esteem. It reveals that persons who do have a positive self-concept are more likely to learn more quickly, remain motivated and creative, care more, relate better and generally live more responsible, happy, fulfilled lives. :: Expected outcomes New insights and direction in your life
:: Nature of the programme
“Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon... must inevitably come to pass.” Paul J. Meyer "Human beings are social beings. We feel the most lasting satisfaction and meaning from our relationships with other people. We have a strong need to belong, to love and be loved, to feel needed and accepted. But how much love you can give - and accept - depends on how you feel about yourself." Lou Tice |
