:: Objectives of the programme
:: Programme Overview Module 1 – Emotional intelligence A 2 days workshop covering the following topics; Emotional Intelligence defined (Distinguishing between EQ and IQ and between conventional and modern views of emotion; The emotional side of the brain); Emotional Literacy (Exploring your own levels of honesty; Exploring your own open-mindedness and focus; Balancing your energy based on your emotional tension; Examining your own emotional feedback patterns; Understanding what role the head and heart play in decisions and the role of intuition); Emotional Fitness (Practising listening, empathy and being truly present; Experiencing trust in action, your own ability to trust and your own trustworthiness; Exploring your own values and the value systems of others) Module 2 – Leadership now A 2 day workshop covering the following topics; Introduction to Leadership, Leadership versus Management, Discussion on various leadership philosophies, Developing your personal Leadership Philosophy, Overview of the programme and programme logistics (how to tackle it? Principles for setting delegates up to win) Module 3 – Interpersonal skills A practical 2 day workshop aimed at giving delegates the necessary skills, tools and techniques for effective interaction with others, such as listening skills, empathy, probing skills, giving and receiving feedback, and managing information. Module 4 – Assertiveness An in-depth 2-day workshop to reflect on how you express yourself. Dealing with reservedness, aggression, manipulation and passiveaggression. Module 5 – Facilitation skills A comprehensive, 3-day experiential workshop that gives delegates both the theory, techniques and skills practice, to effectively and confidently facilitate any group process. Module 6 – Coaching and mentoring skills A 2-day workshop that explores the concepts of coaching and mentoring, and the roles of coach, mentor and mentee. It is aimed at giving team leaders the tools to effectively coach and mentor team members in order for them to grow and develop in their specified direction. Module 7 – Managing conflict Exploring your own conflict style, from avoidance to competing, and developing a practical and effective conflict resolution style. Stages of conflict, resolution tactics, conflict responses amongst others are covered comprehensively on this programme. Module 8 – Performance and consequence management A 2-day skills based workshop that looks at managing performance of people in totality - from initial contracting of performance to consequence management of poor performance and conduct/behaviour. Module 9 – Team development A 2 night- 2 day residential workshop aimed at exploring group dynamics, roles in groups, power issues, motivating colleagues and various other factors that play a role in team effectiveness. Module 10 – Managing change and diversity A 3-day experiential workshop that explores the process of managing change within our environment – the skills and insight needed, as well as exploring key issues of managing cultural diversity and transformation as a leader. Module 11 – Projects On completion of the first 9 modules, delegates are required to conduct a formal work-related project either individually or in pairs aimed at assessing the skills, insights and experiences from the previous 9 modules. The projects are formally assessed by the facilitators and some line management representatives upon completion. Please note:
